from conversation to salesperson

A voice agent that qualifies well and hands over badly has not saved anyone any work. The handoff is where the value either lands on a salesperson's phone in a usable shape, or arrives as another notification they have to decode.

inside the handoff

metrikYou mentioned a site visit this weekend — I am passing this to the person who handles that project.

leadSure, they can message me on WhatsApp.

sample conversation · closing turn · not a customer recording

the challenge

Most handoffs are a link and a name. The salesperson opens the CRM, reads a transcript or listens to a recording, and reconstructs the requirement themselves — which takes long enough that many of them skip it and just call the lead and ask again.

Asking again is the expensive failure. The lead has already answered those questions once, and being asked a second time is the clearest possible signal that the two conversations are not connected.

the strategy

The handoff is designed as the product surface, not as an export. It carries the requirement summary in the shape a salesperson reads first — configuration, budget, area, possession, timeline, visit interest — and the single next action the lead actually asked for.

It arrives where the salesperson already works. On WhatsApp for desks that run on WhatsApp, into the CRM for desks that run on a CRM, with the transcript one tap behind it either way.

picking the owner

Project, location and assignment logic decide who receives the lead. The rules are the desk's own — coverage, ownership, availability — and the decision is recorded with the lead so it can be questioned later.

Where the rules cannot resolve an owner, the lead escalates to a manager rather than defaulting silently to whoever is first in the list.

the summary

Six fields and one action. Configuration, budget band, preferred area, possession preference, buying timeline and site-visit interest — then what the lead asked for next, in their words.

Anything the agent could not establish is shown as missing rather than guessed. A blank field is information; a plausible invention is a liability.

what stays behind it

The full turn-by-turn transcript, the language the conversation actually happened in, the consent record, the routing decision and the cost of the call all remain attached to the lead.

None of it is required to act on the handoff. All of it is required to trust the handoff, which is why it is one tap away rather than absent.

outcome

The salesperson opens one message and knows what to say. Nothing is re-asked, and nothing has to be reconstructed from a recording.

For the desk, every handoff is the same shape — which is what makes it possible to see where leads are actually going, and what each conversation cost to produce.
